Alicante, Spain
We did the tour to Alicante. Beautiful place by the sea, not far from Elche’s. Many people who work in Elche actually live and travel from Alicante. I liked their boardwalk and how it’s paved, very imaginative and original.
Opened shops are with leather goods, and some interesting art stalls. Very nice place with a lot of restaurants. Above Alicante rises up the hill with Castle of Santa Barbara on which we did not get because we were with a baby. It is worth to see, this castle dates from 9th century when Muslim had control of Iberian Penisula ( 711.- 1296.)
The castle was later reconstructed, bombarded few times and finally opened to the public in 1963. The beaches are kilometers of sand and you really can enjoy. The temperatures were higher than in Elche, or it was because there are not many tall palms and shade in Alicante…
